Sangmoon Bae misses the cut

In first tournament since completing 2 years national service

Sangmoon Bae has missed the cut in his return to professional tour golf after two years of compulsory national service in the South Korean army.

Bae shot a three over 74 on Thursday at the Asian Tour's Donghae Open, and then added a 75 on the second day at Bear's Best Cheohga Club Club in his native South Korea.

His fight to make the cut was hampered by three bogeys in his opening five holes, and with a 36–hole score of +7 149, he was well shy of the projected +2 cut.

Bae's last professional appearance was in the 2015 Presidents Cup in South Korea, but he won't be making the team for this year's Presidents Cup, which takes place at the Liberty National course, in New Jersey on the 28th September.
