After only just making it into the top 50 as the final qualifier to play in this weeks Fed Ex cup playoffs, Keegan Bradley surprised many if not all to clinch a shock win at the BMW Championship.

This win will now see him enter the closing event of the PGA tour season next week, the TOUR Championship, in 4th place.

The 38 year old US Ryder Cup captain sealed his 7th victory on the PGA Tour, 427 days after his sixth at last year's Travellers Championship, by shooting a level par 72 in his final round, one shot ahead of the three-way tie for 2nd place, of Scott, Burns and Aberg.

"Oh, man, it just shows why you've got to grind it out every week because you never know how fast it can switch," Bradley said. "Now I go to Atlanta with a chance to win the FedEx Cup. I can't believe it. I'm so excited."

World number one Scottie Scheffler was not as his best, as he finished tied 33rd this week. However he will still hold onto top spot in the FedEx Cup standings, giving a two shot lead at the start of the TOUR Championship over of second-placed Xander Schauffele.

Other placements in the season closer next week include Matsuyama, who had to withdraw before his second round with a back injury, starting three shots back on seven under, this weeks winner Bradley on six under and fifth-placed Team Europe rising star Aberg at five under.

Alongside Collin Morikawa, Wyndham Clark, Sam Burns, and Patrick Cantlay, Rory Mcilroy, has qualified in sixth, and will begin his four rounds on four under 6 adrift from top spot.
