The current worlds best golfer, Scottie Scheffler finished off his astounding Tiger like season this weekend with a win at East Lake Golf Club to win his first ever Tour Championship.

Scottie kept his playing partner, Collin Morikawa at arms length all the way through the final round, despite a handful of nervy moments to come out on top at 30 under par.

One such moment included a very uncharacteristic, crowd silencing shank on the 8th hole from a greenside bunker,  leading to a bogey 5 and allowing Morikawa to close the gap up the top to just two shots at the time. In true Scheffler fashion, he then bounced back to make 3 birdies at the turn, stretching his lead back into shape.

At the close of his round, Scottie had made three bogeys an eagle and five birdies to finish four ahead of Morikawa. Sahith Theegala shot a final-round of 64, which included a 2 shot penalty for adjusting his lie in the bunker, this placed him into third spot ahead of Russell Henley, Adam Scott and Xander Schauffele.

Looking back over this season, "I feel like I've lived almost a full lifetime in this one year," said Scheffler "It's been nuts."

Elsewhere, Rory Mcilroy finished a very up and down season carding a 66 final round as the best of the brits, tied 9th with Hideki Matsuyama and Shane Lowry at -19.
