Defending champions Bernhard Langer and 24 year old son, Jason Langer, make it 6 titles at the PNC Championship after a nail biting play-off hole win against Tiger Woods and young Charlie Woods.
The defending pair held out carding a 59 on the first day, followed by a brilliant 57 on the second, 2 rounds perfectly matched by Team Woods in the 2 day format, playing 36-holes of scramble play taking place over Saturday and Sunday in the unique, family event in Orlando.
Bernhard drained a lengthy eagle putt on the first and last title deciding play-off hole, narrowly beating Team Woods bringing a wry smile to the faces of both Tiger and Charlie.
In what was an entertaining event filled with heart warming moments, one of those had to be Tiger's son, Charlie making his first career hole in one. Leading Tiger and his son to embrace in a big hug, followed by a 'would you believe it' playful push.
Tiger teased: "You're buying. That's the protocol for making a hole-in-one," followed by a "I'm broke." as Charlie responded.
Speaking after the close defeat a mature 15 year old Charlie Woods said: "It was awesome, no-one made a mistake today, so that was some of the most fun I've ever had."
"On top of that, I made an ace. I don't think I can top that."
Still on the road to recovery from back surgery in September, his second in only a year and a half, Tiger stated:
"I'm just super happy for Charlie, no one made a mistake today and we had to earn it. I'm nowhere near in competitive shape but we made a great team and that's the whole joy of it to be out here with family and bonding and just the enjoyment of each other's company,"
