Nico Echavarria edged out a line up full of the PGA Tour's biggest and baddest at the Zozo Championship, to clinch his second title PGA Tour victory at the Narashino Country Club in Inzai, Japan.

Playing alongside Justin Thomas and Max Greyserman, the rising Columbian star scored a three-under 67 on the final day, with birdies on 2 of the last 3 holes, to win by just a shot over the pair.

With this his 2nd win on  the PGA Tour, the last coming at the Puerto Rico Open back in 2022, Echavarria now may have secured the template for more success in his career.

“I don’t think I would have won this week without the victory in Puerto Rico. I pulled a lot of that moment in the last round on Sunday in Puerto Rico, and I used it a lot this week to stay calm,” he said.

“It was a lot of fun with these guys (Thomas and Greyserman) battling it out.”

Coming ever closer to ending a PGA Tour win dry spell, Justin Thomas closed out his final round with a respectable four-under 66.

As his wait for another win goes on longer Thomas was disappointed, feeling he had done enough to clinch his first win in over 2 years.

“Obviously bummed and disappointed, but I played so well. I played plenty well enough to win the tournament. Hit so many good putts that just didn’t go in, that’s the difference. I needed some of those ones that burned the edge to fall,” he said.
