Tragedy as woman eaten by alligator at golf community

A 45-year-old woman from Hilton Head Island was attacked and killed by an alligator after it had tried to maul her dog.

According to Beaufort County authorities, Cassandra Cline's dog went close to the lagoon at the Sea Pines Plantation when the horrific incident occurred. According to officials, the pup got too close to the lagoon where the gator was, and as the woman tried to save the dog,  the alligator grabbed the dog's lead, and dragged the woman into the lagoon.
