Rory shoots 67 to take second spot at SA Open

But still three behind Graeme Storm

Rory has just finished his third round at the South African Open, and he's carded a useful 67 to go into second place behind Graeme Storm.

He got off to a fast start with a birdie on the first, which was already a two–shot improvement on yesterday's round when he started with an ugly double bogey.

Then on the par four 7th it was Eagle time, and he was flying. Another birdie on the 8th was then followed by a dropped shot on the ninth to  make the turn in 33.

Three consecutive birdies from 11 to 13 and things were looking good. But, and there always has to be a but at the moment, he dropped a shot on the 18th to come in with a 34 and post a 67.

Meanwhile at the top of the leaderboard, Graeme Storm had a bogey free 67, which included five birdies. That followed his amazing nine under 63 from yesterday. He's also now gone 41 holes without dropping a shot.

He's got a three–hole lead on Rory, and a bit of a cushion. If he can maintain his excellent consistency, then Rory is going to have to fight really hard to get over this line. After today's performance, it looks like he is more than coping with his bad back, so we could be in for a thriller.
