Dom Pedro Golf opens the search for Portugal Masters Social Media reporter

Budding social media journalist to capture the action

Dom Pedro Golf, Algarve’s premier golf brand, is offering one lucky golf fan the opportunity of a lifetime to become the official social media reporter for the venue during the European Tour’s Portugal Masters.

The golf fan, budding journalist or social media enthusiast, to be selected from Twitter or Instagram, will get unprecedented access at the Pro-Am and four-day tournament (20th–23rd September), usually reserved for accredited media, to capture and share the action of their choosing from the competition.

They will have the freedom to shoot behind the scenes alongside professional sports journalists, capturing insights on the tournament that amateurs can only dream about, and then share this content on Dom Pedro Golf social channels.

Twitter users are being asked to present a case for why they should be chosen. All they need to do is follow @Dompedrogolf and tweet about why they would be the best person for the job, including the hashtag, #PortugalMasters. The closing date and time for entry will be 10th September 2018, at midday UK time (12pm) to be in with a chance of winning.  

To enter the competition on Instagram, users must follow and tag @dompedrogolf in a post showing their best golfing moment, whether that be a photo of an amazing golfing view or avideo of you sinking the winning putt in a competition, including the hashtag #portugalmasters.

The winner, who will also be able to bring a friend, will be decided by Dom Pedro Golf on 10th September. In addition to becoming the social media reporter, the winner will receive:

6 nights in one of Dom Pedro’s hotels (18th – 24th September)

All expenses paid, including flights, travel and food & beverage

Exclusive access to the media centre, all press conferences and the golf course

Throughout the history of the Portugal Masters, the tournament has acted as both a catalyst for the emergence of some of the most exciting players today on the European Tour, as well as a source of resurgence for stellar names in the game, highlighting the importance of the prestigious event on the golfing calendar.

Last year, Lucas Bjerregaard produced one of the best performances of his career at the perfect moment, to claim his maiden European title and save his card. The popular European Tour event returns to Vilamoura on the 19th September and will see the 26-year old Dane defend his title.
