Confirmed for Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship
Words: GolfPunk
Stars of the ladies’ game, Amy Boulden, Trish Johnson and Carly Booth are all in for a bid to win €50,000 as they compete in the Warwickshire-based, Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship.
Unlike most golf events, the Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship sees men and women compete alongside one another, and the announcement of Amy, Trish and Carly’s attendance comes after confirmation that Ladies European Tour and LPGA Tour hotshot Charley Hull will be returning to Nailcote Hall for the championship.
Welsh star Amy Boulden is a regular on the Ladies European Tour and in 2014 won the prestigious ‘Rookie of the Year’ award. She has nine top ten finishes to her name and is regarded as one of the brightest stars in the ladies’ game.
With 19 wins on the Ladies European Tour and three on the LPGA Tour, Trish Johnson has been one of the most consistent figures in the ladies’ game over the last three decades. Topping the Order of Merit in 1990, Trish has achieved plenty in the game including helping Europe to two Solheim Cup victories.
Since turning pro in 2009 Carly Booth’s career has gone from strength to strength and she has two Ladies European Tour victories to her name. The first came in 2012 in the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open. With ambitions of earning a LPGA Tour card, Carly is no stranger to the BP3 having played in last year’s event.
Two-time Major winner, Tony Jacklin CBE, is back as the event host and he talked about the trio’s inclusion at this year’s event. He said: “It is great to see Amy, Trish and Carly come on board for this year’s event. All three of them have a proven track in the ladies’ game and we are thrilled they will be bringing their wonderful talent to the BP3. I’m looking forward to seeing them all in action.”
Amy, Trish and Carly will be taking part in this year’s Professional Championship that takes place on the 8 –9 August.
