Bank Robbers Chased by Golfers
Police chase spills on to Omaha golf course
Words: Daniel Owen
Golf was abandoned at Knoll golf course in Omaha, as Police hunted down four armed bank robbers on the grounds of the course!
Chaos ensued as police pursued the four men who were suspected of robbing a U.S. Bank branch in northwest Omaha. It’s thought the suspects were also involved in a second bank robbery the day before.
The four suspects abandoned their car and scattered to different parts of the golf course. The Omaha police chopper kept tracks best they could of the suspects from above, and according to the police radio, some of the golfers attempted to help and tried to chase down the suspects!
The golfers were quite blasé about the whole situation mind. Why let armed robbers phase you when there's a game of golf to be played. Skip Wolff didn’t.
"That's not something you anticipate. It’s something that happens, I guess. That's life. On a golf course, anything can happen. Today proved it.”
Fellow golfer Bruce Tuttle really didn’t seem bothered by the police chase. ”Only my golf score is a crime.” We’re not sure that’s entirely accurate, but we know what he was getting at. Police managed to apprehend the four suspects and they are currently in custody.
