Oscar Jacobson's solution for winter warmth
And it's called Cashwool
Words: John Dean
Here's how Swedish brand, Oscar Jacobson, plans to keep you warm as the weather and temperatures take a turn for the worse.
At this time of year, retaining sufficient warmth out on the links becomes a key requirement for golfers as they seek effective, yet stylish, solutions in their quest to keep body temperature at an optimal level without excess clothing or material hampering their freedom to swing.
Among the garments from the OJ Sport autumn/winter collection to resolve this dilemma are the classic Wyatt V-neck sweater and Rutger V-neck slipover, both woven from Cashwool ®, a 100% extrafine merino wool.
“We are proud that all our merino knitwear utilises 100% extrafine Cashwool from Zegna Barrufa” Said Carl-Johan Frisk, Collection Manager for Oscar Jacobson Sport. “Baruffa yarns are among the finest Merino in the world.”
Cashwool ® is a stylish, unique and high–performing yarn crafted by Zegna Baruffa at its Borgosesia plant in the Piedmont region of northern Italy.
This soft, luxurious wool was born out of intensive research in the late 1970s for a yarn combining aesthetic beauty with top-quality performance. The secret of Cashwool ® lies in the expert selection of the raw materials, with only the finest parts of the fleece selected to create a soft, fluffy and luxurious-feeling yarn.
Both Cashwool ® garments in OJ Sport’s autumn/winter 2016 range are perfect either as the ideal top layer on those milder autumn and winter days, or as the perfect mid-layer when the temperature or wind chill demands an additional outer layer over the top.
Wyatt and Rutger offer classic OJ Sport styling with full fashion details around the collar, and additionally on the sleeve inserts on the Wyatt sweater. The Rutger slipover is available in black in sizes from S through to XXL, while Wyatt offers a much wider colour palette in sizes from XS-3XL.
Oscar Jacobson knows all too well that golfers are not prepared to sacrifice class and style simply because the temperature has dropped. The Cashwool ® extrafine merino wool Wyatt and Rutger deliver in full on both fronts, while simultaneously adding that extra degree of warmth required as you golf on through the off-season.
