Paul Waring, this week, produced the performance of his career, at Yas Links to win the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship by two shots. His first title in 6 years on tour, and just his second career win.

Following a course record 61 on Friday, Englishman Waring birdied his final two holes on Sunday to claim a stunning victory, his second DP World Tour title – after the 2016 Nordea Masters – and first Rolex Series win.

Holding his nerve against the best players that the DP World Tour has to offer, Waring shot a final day 6 under par 66, to finish 2 shots clear of his compatriot and nearest rival, Hatton.

“It just means so much to so many other things that come with that win,” said Waring.

“I don't want to sound over the top or anything but I felt like my golf game has been in such a good place over the last year. (I) Just haven't put it all together and then this week arrives and what a week for it all to come together, putting nicely, approach play was great, great off the tee. It's nice to put it all together and get a tournament like this,” he told the DP World Tour website after collecting his trophy and winner’s cheque.

In a weekend of stunning displays golf, Hatton closed out his weekend with a 8 under par 64 final round, enough for a solo 2nd place, but no more.

Also finishing strong on the final day was Rory McIlroy, as he too scored an 8 under par 64 final round, earning him a joint 3rd place finish. Thus extending his significantly healthy lead atop the Race To Dubai rankings.
