The Springs Resort and Golf Club has celebrated its full opening
New ‘stay and play’ golf packages for the 2023 season
The Springs Resort & Golf Club has celebrated its full opening following a multi-million-pound investment by unveiling new ‘stay and play’ golf packages for the 2023 season.
Having previously opened its boutique hotel and spa as a restoration of the 19th century Manor House, owner Darwin Escapes has completed the resort’s final phase with the addition of a revitalised modern clubhouse, restaurant, bar, golf practice facilities and luxury lodge accommodation.
Golf break pricing for 2023 starts at £135pp for a one-night stay and £249pp for two nights. Packages include two rounds of golf, as well as breakfast and dinner at The Ridgeway Restaurant and accommodation.
Guests can choose from one or two-night stay packages in the Alder Lodges, popular with golfers for their tranquillity and proximity to the resort’s acclaimed facilities. Also included are tee times on the par-72 course - designed by former Ryder Cup captain Brian Huggett - and breakfast and dinner in the stunning Ridgeway Restaurant.
The Springs’ parkland layout has enjoyed a growing reputation since a significant refurbishment in 2018. Prolific architect Tim Lobb, in collaboration with Huggett, overhauled the course’s lakes and bunkers to enhance one of the finest courses in the South-East. The redevelopment also saw The Springs become GEO Certified, an honour created to recognise environmentally sustainable golf courses across the world.
After a perfect day on the fairways, guests can look forward to dinner at The Ridgeway Restaurant, a spacious eatery lined with golf-inspired décor. The versatile restaurant, which serves a diverse range of classic meals, has both a formal dining area and a more casual lounge space for guests to choose from. Also housed in the resort’s extensive clubhouse is a spike bar, ideal for reflecting on a round with a priceless view of the 18th hole.
After dinner, guests can retire to the cosy Alder Lodges, contemporary ensuites equipped with everything a golfer could need for their getaway. Each pod, just a short walk from the clubhouse, includes a private outdoor decking area for guests to immerse themselves in the Oxfordshire countryside.
Kevin Paver, Marketing & Digital Content Manager at Darwin Escapes, said: “The Springs has always been one of our most popular locations but with the additional facilities, this marks its birth as an attractive golf resort in the heart of England.
“These packages provide great options for golfers, from a stay in one of our Alder Lodges to dinner at The Ridgeway and excellent golf.”
A firm favourite with local and far-travelled golfers alike, The Springs boasts first-class practice facilities alongside the course. A pair of state-of-the-art performance studios are packed with the latest technology to improve a golfer’s swing and putting.
Meanwhile, the boutique Spa is staffed by expert therapists employing an eclectic range of treatments and relaxation techniques. Taking advantage of the resort’s secluded location in the picturesque countryside, the spa immerses guests in a world of undisturbed relaxation, with a sauna, steam room and hydro-therapy pool available to enjoy.
