The Open 2023

The Open Championship is the final major of the season with the 151st playing of The Open and the 13th at Royal Liverpool Golf Club, the first since 2014. 42 players in the field competed at the 2014 Open Championship, including winner Rory McIlroy and four others that finished in the top 10: Rickie Fowler, Adam Scott, Charl Schwartzel and Shane Lowry.

16 LIV golfers will be attending the 151st Open, comprising of; defending champion Cam Smith, PGA Champion Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, Talor Gooch, Patrick Reed, Louis Oosthuizen, Branden Grace, Joaquin Niemann, Thomas Pieters, Phil Mikelson, Abraham Ancer, Richard Bland, Laurie Canter, and Charl Schwartzel.

Rory McIlroy will play alongside Ryder Cup team-mates Jon Rahm and Justin Rose in the first two rounds of the 151st Open Championship at Royal Liverpool.

McIlroy, who won last week's Genesis Scottish Open, won The Open Championship the last time it was held at Royal Liverpool.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler has two wins this season and leads the PGA Tour with 15 top-10s this season.

Jon Rahm enters The Open Championship as the FedExCup leader with four wins this season, including the Masters Tournament in April.

Rickie Fowler, who snapped a winless drought of more than four years with his victory at the Rocket Mortgage Classic on July 2, finished T2 at the 2014 Open Championship at Royal Liverpool.

Wyndham Clark is making his first start in a major since winning the U.S. Open, his first career major title and second PGA Tour victory.

Defending champion Cam Smith joins the fold after victory at the most recent LIV Golf event in early July, and will be looking to demonstrate his putting abilities once again, which effectively sealed his win last year at St. Andrews.
