Tartan Friday at Solheim Cup

GolfPunk will be donning their tartan trews on the opening day of the Solheim Cup at Gleneagle for #TartanFriday. Catriona Matthew has been working with Abacus Sportswear of Sweden to produce the official Solheim Cup tartan for Team Europe and the results are as they say north of the border ‘pure tidy’.

Apparently, our Catriona wanted the official Solheim Cup tartan, which has been commissioned by VisitScotland and created by Lochcarron of Scotland, incorporated into the apparel for the team.

As the weather can be rather changeable in Bonny Scotland the Friday outfit consists of the abacus® Troon hybrid jacket and vest. The jacket has windproof fabric on the front and back where you need it the most, whereas the sides and sleeves have a super stretchy fleece to ensure freedom of motion.

We quite like the Crail polo with its tartan decorated collar and even see ourselves in one provided it’s not too tight round our moobs!

Apparently, some of the tartan clobber will be on sale at the merchandise shop at Gleneagles during the event week.

Matthew is calling on all European fans to support her team by wearing tartan on Friday, 13th September and the best dressed fan will win an abacus® Troon hybrid jacket and Crail polo. All you need to do is upload a photo to the official Solheim Cup Europe Twitter or Instagram page @SolheimCupEuro using the hashtag #TartanFriday.
