It was Thorbjorn Olesen's day at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. He shot a great 7 under 65 at St Andrews to get to seventeen under par, and hold a three shot lead over Germany’s Florian Fritsch.
The course played tougher today, with the wind coming from a different direction, and some harder pin placements. But the greens, helped by a firm breeze, were drying out after the torrential rain last night, and running true. Here's who moved.
The day was essentially a two horse race between Jordan Spieth and Jason Day, as these two young revelations battled it out to add the PGA Championship to their list of honours.

It was Danny Lee who was the first round leader with a sensational five under par 65. The New Zealander mixed seven birdies with two bogeys to top the leaderboard. After already winning the Greenbrier Classic last month the in form 25 year old looks like could go all the way and win his first World Golf Championship at Firstone Country Club.
Given the length and par combination, it doesn’t take much of a genius to work out there are some long par 4’s round the South Course at Firestone, and length off the tee is certainly important. A scintillating last day at the Ricoh Women's British Open saw Inbee Park triumph over the Ailsa course at Turnberry. Her final round 65 was a joint course record.
So we all got a little carried away didn’t we as today we saw Tiger in full reverse gear, dropping 3 shots to end the day at 5 under, tied 42nd.
