USPGA Championship to be played in May!
And Rory is well up for it

It looks like the USPGA is going to be switched from late August to May. The PGA Tour & PGA of America are looking to give the tournament even more prestige by making it the second major of the year, after the Masters and a month before the US Open. The Open will then complete the big four in July.
And Rory McIlroy is all for it: "I can definitely see the reasons for it," said Rory at his Players Championship press conference. "We would have a big event every month. Then the FedEx run would be a little earlier and not clash with the [American] football. I can definitely see why that would happen."
This year's US PGA Championship is at Quail Hollow Club from August 10 to 13
The idea is that, with all the majors finished by the end of July, there would be more time in the season for the PGA Tour's money spinning FedEx Cup which offers a $10,000,000.00 pay day for the winner of the Tour Championship in September.
"This is a special day and a great statement about our players and our Tour," said PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan. "Moving the USPGA Championship to May would have the knock-on effect of the TPC at Sawgrass being played in March."
This spells good news for the European Tour too, as it will give the Race To Dubai (which concludes in November) the chance to attract some of the biggest names from the PGA Tour. It is estimated the change in diary for the USPGA will happen in two to three years time.
