Phil Mickelson out of the Scottish Open

Does not want to learn new course

Phil Mickelson will not be playing the 2017 Scottish Open at Dundonald Links.

Speaking to GolfByTourMiss.com at the FedEx St. Jude Classic, Phil has confirmed he’s giving Dundonald Links a miss this year.

"I am not playing the Scottish this year as it's too much for me to learn a new course every time I go to the Scottish on top of needing to familiarise myself with the British Open venues," he said.

"I've heard good things about Dundonald but while they are changing courses of every year, I will not play."

Phil famously won the Scottish Open at Castle Stuart in 2013 before going on to win The Open at Muirfield.

One big name who has confirmed is Jason Day, which will be a relief to the organizers as Phil will be sorely missed.
