Lexi wins CME Globe but still suffers heartache
Misses tiddler to hand Tour Championship to Ariya Jutanugarn

It all went wrong for Lexi Thompson yesterday.... if you can count walking away with an extra million bucks 'wrong'...
There were plenty of diverse scenarios going into the final round of the Tour Championship. In the end, Lexi had a two foot putt to win the whole kitten kaboodle. Just roll it in and, not only do you bag the Tour Championship and the CME Globe in Naples, you're also world No. 1 for the first time.
What happened next will not vanish quickly from Lexi's memory as the putt took a course suggesting it wasn't quite ready for bed yet, opening the door for Ariya Jutanugarn, who birdied 17 and 18 to take the title. Lexi still took home $1 million for winning the season-long Race to the CME Globe, but she'll need some serious putting therapy after that one.
It's been a bonkers year for Lexi after the penalty-shrouded ANA Inspiration, where she was denied her second major by a TV armchair whisttle blower who claimed she had made a dodgy ball marking, and she's going to have to hose herself down once more after missing a tap-in with everything on the line.
Still, she can worry about it after she's done spending her extra $1,000,000.00.
