Gary Woodland and Down syndrome golfer steal Phoenix show

This is marvellous

This has made our week at GolfPunk. Gary Woodland, we salute you. And Amy Bockerstette, you a star!

Amy from Special Olympics Arizona played the famous 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale with Woodland earlier this week during a practice round, and the entire thing was brilliant. Bockerstette has Down syndrome, but that didn't keep her from blowing Woodland's mind with her ability on the course.

Bockerstette, who received a community college scholarship to play golf after making the high school state tournament for two years back to back, made a par on the hole after getting up and down from a tough spot in the sand, saying "You can do this," to herself as she played.

The crowd, and Woodland, (who won this tournament last year) went crazy when Amy coolly slotted in her 15-foot putt for par. Woodland was rendered pretty much speechless, save for saying "That is so awesome, you are so awesome," over and over again.

Consider the gravy well and truly helped.
