Golf is back in England

All back to the links from 2 December

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson yesterday confirmed the news we had all been praying for – golf is back from 2 December! Boris stated that when the four-week national lockdown due to coronavirus comes to an end, outdoor sports will be allowed once again.

There were concerns when the prime Minister continued to explain that England would return to a three-tier system but under all three tiers outside sport is allowed.
"I can confirm the national restrictions in England will end on the 2 December and they will not be renewed," said Johnson.
"From next Wednesday, people will be able to leave their home for any purpose and meet others in outside public spaces, subject to the Rule of Six. Collective worship, weddings and outdoor sports can resume, and shops, personal care, gyms and the wider leisure sector can reopen."

Craig Tracey who chairs the All-Parliamentary Group for Golf confirmed the position during a speech over a video call in Parliament.

Matt Hancock, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Car also confirmed the moves when stating that he was ‘delighted’ that outdoor sports would be able to reopen.

So there you have it. Golf is back and now wait for one hell of a bun fight for the tee times!
