Valspar Champs Day One

Day one at the Valspar Championship set up an interesting start to the tournament as Keegan Bradley, Charles Howell III and Ken Duke all took a share of the lead. The four under first round 67's around the Copperhead Resort at Innisbrook were shot on a day when there were only 24 rounds under par in a field of 144 players.
Jordan Spieth had another day to forget, crashing to a five over 76. He made five bogies in the first seven holes. That sounds like a start we'd be pleased with but we aren't double major champions!
Elsewhere Steven Bowditch shot his fifth successive round in the 80's. We saw him up close back in October at the TaylorMade M1 launch event and he flat out kills it. It seems incredible to us that he can be scoring so badly.
Finally Danny Willett proved once again that his game travels, shooting a one under 70, and top placed non American in a tie for eighth. I have a sneaky feeling we won't be seeing too much more of Danny's golf in Europe over the coming years.
