Troon to manage 4ORE! Golf
Massive new golf entertainment centre in Texas
Words: John Dean
Troon has been selected to manage 4ORE! Golf, a 52,000-square-foot golf and entertainment facility located in Lubbock, Texas.
The 16-acre complex is currently under construction and is expected to open in May 2017.
4ORE! Golf will be a mix of golf, food and fun for the whole family. Players of all ages and skill levels will hit golf balls from one of 60 climate-controlled tee boxes that can host up to six players at a time.
Players will be rewarded for hitting targets located on a seven-acre turf field. The two-story facility will use advanced doppler-based technology that will track the accuracy and distance of each shot and map the flight of the ball on a monitor for scoring.
While not hitting golf shots, guests will enjoy the upscale, laid-back atmosphere that will feature more than 175 high-definition flat-screen televisions, a full-service sports bar and grill with seating for 150 guests and an outstanding food and beverage menu, three bars, and an outdoor patio with casual seating, fire pits, yard games and a putting green.
4ORE! Golf will also include 2,500 square-feet of private event space for hosting conferences, corporate outings, social gatherings and parties.
In addition, 4ORE! Golf’s 2,500 square-foot elite training academy will offer professional club fitting, a full practice range as well as a short game area.
“This is an exciting project for Troon and for the City of Lubbock,” said Jim Bellington, senior vice president of operations, Troon. “4ORE! Golf will be a terrific entertainment venue that the entire family can enjoy together. Plus, the fun, laid-back atmosphere of 4ORE! Golf will help introduce new golfers to the game and allow casual golfers to continue to develop their love for golf.”
This looks like Topgolf on steroids, but if it gets people out there hitting balls it's got to be a part of the way forwards.
