The end of Anchoring

It's officially over

Goodbye and good riddance to anchored puttiing. The ban has now come into force. It's time to put(t) away the golf zimmer frame.

As of midnight on New Year’s Eve the anchored putting stroke reached the end of the line. Rule 14-1b now states: "In making a stroke, the player must not anchor the club, either 'directly' or by use of an 'anchor point.'"

And that’s the end of that. Good riddance.

Adam Scott still getting to grips with a proper putter.
