Soomin Lee wins his first ever European Tour title

Takes the Shenzhen International on fifth day

22 year-old Somin Lee secured his maiden European Tour victory on Monday after play had been delayed over the weekend following heavy rain, strong winds and electrical activity.

As the final round got under way overnight leaders Lee Slattery and Alexander Levy quickly fell away as the chasing pack attempted to wrestle control of the leader board.

Lee made the decisive move when he birdied the 16th and eagled the 17th.

The South Korean finished the tournament on 16-under par, two shots ahead of joint runners up Brandon Stone and Joost Luiton.

Lee’s victory has now pushed him into the top ten in the Race to Dubai.

For more European Tour news here's why Rory has chosen the French Open over the WGC Bridgestone Invitational.
