Rory McIlroy has signed an estimated $100 million (£80 million) contract extension with Nike.
The deal is for 10 years and as Nike has stopped making clubs and balls, McIlroy will be able to negotiate with other sponsors to further increase his income.
McIlroy is now using Callaway drivers and irons, Titleist wedges and ball and a Scotty Cameron putter. But there are no deals in place at the moment. It will be interesting to see if this changes and these brands come on board to officially support him.
I've got to say that I wouldn't be splashing the cash in a hurry, as the fact that Rory is playing their equipment will fitler through. I'd be keeping my powder dry for sure.
But either way Rory is not going to be short of a bob or two, and can go into his Masters campaign more than safe in the knowledge that his financial future is not exactly an issue.
