Paul Lawrie leads in Qatar

Holds a two shot lead at end of day three

Paul Lawrie going for third Qatar Masters win.

Paul Lawrie has a two-shot lead after the third round at Doha Golf Club. He seems to like it there as he is now going for an unprecedented third win of the Qatar Masters.

Lawrie didn’t make birdie until the 14th hole, but he didn’t drop any shots either. He birdied again on the par five to card a two under par 70, which was enough to give him a two shot lead over Branden Grace and Thorbjorn Olsen.

Grace is the defending champion, so we expect him to give Lawrie a real fight tomorrow, after what was a fairly brutal and windy day out on the course.

"Conditions were tough, but to go around there and not have a bogey." Lawrie said. "It is a little bit frustrating for me. I hit a lot of good putts that didn't go in."

Lawrie has not won on the European Tour since 2012, which was also the year he won the Qatar Masters for a second time.

Off the course Paul has been running his academy in Aberdeenshire, which got badly hit by the recent flooding. And he’s also launched his own brand called Cardinal.

So he’s been having his ups and downs, but hoping for a great big up tomorrow.
