No one can ignore the terrible fires ravaging Australia and to help in the relief efforts of those affected by the fires, a number of LPGA players including the Korda sisters, Marina Alex, Australian Sarah Kemp and England’s Charlotte Thomas, have publicised that they will be making a donation.
The players will donate a sum for every birdie or eagle made during upcoming events, including the LPGA Tour’s events in Australia in February.
Kemp shared a message on social media detailing how her parents came close to losing their home in the fires with the fire reaching the boundary of the property, burning the fence.
England’s Mel Reid is another pledging to donate and will be donating $25 for every birdie and $75 for eagles at the ISPS Handa Vic Open and the Women’s Australian Open.
Plenty of others pledged to do the same after the social media messages went out and we are sure the men will join in with their own form of donations.
