Justin Rose is the new World No 1

Despite losing to Keagan Bradley in BMW play off

Keegan Bradley has beaten Justin Rose in a sudden-death playoff to win the BMW Championship on Monday for his first PGA Tour victory in six long years.

But despite coming second, Rose has become the new World No 1, and is now just the 22nd player to make the top spot since the rankings began back in 1986.

Bradley shot a final round 6-under 64 to finish at 20-under par, tied with Rose, who lipped out with his potentially winning putt, which was just so close.

He then missed a short putt on the first play off hole, which allowed Keagan Bradley to claim victory.

But it is a crowning achievement for the 38-year old Englishman, who has been playing some fantastic golf this season. And we can only hope that his form continues into the Ryder Cup, which is now just over two weeks away.
