Justin Leonard's new crib

$9 million pad in Denver, Colorado

As we reported recently former Open winner Justin Leonard has decided to massively cut back his schedule this season, playing only around 12 events, and has moved his family to Colorado. He's now bought a $9 million new crib there.

"So when we started talking about moving, I said let's just take golf out of it, where are we going to be the happiest and the most excited when we get on an airplane to go home, where are we going to be the most excited to go to, and we're there.”

Justin Leonard took the first round in the PGA Tour's OHL Classic, after two years away from the top of a leaderboard, but could only eventually come in 29th.

The 43 year-old Texan has now paid $9 million for a home in Aspen, Colo., local property records show.

Sited on a corner lot, the house was built in 1994 and has five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms in 5,500 square feet of living space. Two floors of living take in sprawling mountain views.

Among features is a formal entry with a sweeping staircase, a media room with a wet bar and French doors that open to an outdoor dining area and fire pit.

An open-plan living room, dining room and kitchen with a large center island highlight the main level. On the second floor, the master suite sports a fireplace, a sitting area and a private balcony, while a covered patio sits adjacent to the office.

Elsewhere on the grounds is an outdoor hot tub area and two-car garage.

The house came on the market in July for $9.45 million, records show. The sale, first reported by the Aspen Times, closed in late October.

Leonard, 43, has 12 PGA Tour victories since turning pro in 1994, including the British Open at Scotland’s Royal Troon in 1997. He has earned more than $33 million on tour for his career.
