GolfSpiv calls the Valspar Championship
Just missed massive pay out on Danny Willett

Spiv was not far away from a monster payout as Danny Willett contended to the end at the WGC Cadillac. Then he hit the water on 18 and that dream was over. Still, the Yorkshire man produced a nice Each Way.
Bubba could have won but Scott was just too good. Two paid out so all in all not a bad week. One thing is for certain though...I doubt if we’ll get Danny at those odds again.
So the Tour now moves towards the Valspar Championship. Jordan Spieth is the hot favourite seeing that he is current champion. 5/1 is the best price you can get for him. Don’t be fooled by his showing last week. The course did not suit his game. However, his putting appears to be an issue at the moment so this one could open up nicely considering the field.
So here are the Spiv’s ones to look out for at the Valspar Championship.
Henrik Stenson 14/1 (Ladbrokes)
The Swede had a bad week at Doral but hey, we’ll let him off. Given the field and his form at Copperhead, you’ll see a different Stenson this week. Came fourth here last year missing the playoff by one shot. 14/1 puts him second favourite with Spieth at 5/1. That’s a massive difference and one we hope to capitalise on.
Danny Willett 25/1 (Coral)
Making his debut here but nothing seems to phase him. Odds were quickly slashed following his third place at Doral. Willett has pushed on since missing out on European Number One last year. He’ll also push to cement his Ryder Cup place. At 25/1 he currently stands as third favourite as bookies have gone for Spieth.
Kevin Na 40/1 (PaddyPower)
Na has a solid record at Copperhead. Runner up in 2014 and tied for 10th last year. More importantly he comes in with good form. Four top three places so far this season. With so many big names not attending...this kid could challenge.
KJ Choi 50/1 (Coral)
Choi has been playing well recently and likes this course. He has won here twice and finished in the top five twice also. His game looks strong and his putting awesome. Exactly what you want around here. Strong Each Way bet being placed on this man.
Sean O’Hair 80/1 (Ladbrokes)
80/1 seems like a long shot right? Well Danny Willett was at those odds and proved people wrong. O’Hair looks likely to do the same. Came 2nd here last year after losing the play off to Spieth. Won this event in 2008 and currently ranked fifth in putting under 10 feet on tour. Came 14th in his last tournament and looks good.
