9 Hole Crazy Golf To Open Under Waterloo
Birdies Brings Golf To The Capital
Words: Daniel Owen
Is Crazy Golf the future of the game? Probably not but it does seem to be the in thing at the moment, as yet another trendy pop up is opening for business in London.
Birdies is opening up in the Vaults at Waterloo. An underground 9 hole course complete with street vendors and resident mixologists, the course is the brainchild of the people behind the successful Underground Film Club. Food is being provided by RockaDollar Dining, a pop up concept from the Hawksmoor (arguably London’s best steaks) Head Chef Richard Sandiford. While top cocktails come from the Spirited Mixers team, with drinks including the Tiger’s Wood, and the GolfBuster. Along with some top DJ's pumping out the tunes, this is a golfing night out rather than a gusty wet Saturday afternoon of crazy golf at the British seaside.
Along with The Junkyard Golf Club in Manchester, and Swingers finding a permanent home in London next year, Crazy Golf is going through an unexpected revival. But we all love golf, cocktails, and good music, so the question is when are we all going?
