Matthew Fitzpatrick won his second European Tour title at Bro Hof Slott Golf Club with a three-shot victory at the Nordea Masters.
Fitzpatrick had a five shot lead coming into the final day and while he saw that cut to two around the turn, he didn’t buckle and carded a 71, to get to 16 under and a three shot victory.
Fitzpatrick hails from Sheffield, so what with Danny Willett blazing it up at The Masters, the city seems to the hotest golfing spot in the UK at the moment.
Nicky C’s improving form must have pleased the big hitting Belgian, but he had to settle for third place, one shot behind the Dane Lasse Jensen.
This was Jensen best ever European Tour performance, and he also earned a place in the field for the Open Championship at Royal Troon in July with a final round of 68.
Henrik Stenson meanwhile must have thought it was moving day as he shot a six under, which included seven birdies and a single bogey. Paired with Bjorn Hellgren, who himself shot five under, this was the form pairing for the day.
