Danny Willett doesn't want to be golfing

Game out of sorts as he makes swing changes

Danny Willett has had an amazing year in golf by any standards, as he captured his first Green Jacket, but the end of season blues have certainly caught up with him, and he’s reported as saying “I don’t really want to be out playing golf.”

Willett finished a total of 22 shots behind the winner Thorbjorn Olesen, and had a measly pay cheque of just €9,223 for his efforts.

He’s in the middle of making some swing changes as well, and that clearly isn’t helping things.

“It just comes and goes, couple of good days and couple of bad days.” Danny Willett told Alex Miceli of his problems. “To be honest I don’t really want to be out there playing golf.

“It couldn’t happen at a worse time. Things are just not going our way, nothing feels that great.”

The Masters certainly was the high water mark of Danny's season, as he has managed only two top 10's in the 14 events he has played since that memorable victory. And the Ryder Cup was a disaster for him as he failed to score in any of his three matches, although he was not helped by his brother's untimely words.

But finishing with a 75 that saw him T68 in a 78 man field that included three Turkish amateurs has to be a career low point. But you don't win a Masters without having something special, and we know that what Danny has in spades is fighting spirit. Prepare for the bounce back.
