Dangerous Golf
New game from the creators of Burnout
Words: John Dean
The people behind the highly successful game Burnout have now left Criterion Games, which was owned by EA, to start their own UK based company. And their first game is Dangerous Golf.
The game is played over 100 holes in four different locations, from a medieval castle to a gas station (I’m not understanding any of this- Brig).
This is not about being under par, rather the more you wreck, the greater your destructive powers become.
Dangerous Golf is described as an "irreverent, silly, fun approach to golf games that challenges players to break the rules and wreak havoc." And we don’t think they are talking about the odd divot here or there.
"It's as serious a golf game as Burnout was a serious simulation to driving games," a spokesperson for the new company Three Fields said. "We wanted to mix the attitude of Burnout with the destruction of Black (a 2004 first-person shooter from Criterion) whilst setting the golf ball on fire--a nod to NBA Jam. This type of gameplay is part of our DNA, and something we think our fans will truly enjoy."
We understand that you’re basically turning your golf ball into a bomb, and then laying waste to all around you. So it's not the Sunday Medal.
Dangerous Golf will launch in May on the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store and Steam (Who Steam? Brig).
