As well as having a girl’s name and being the man who gave despots a bad name, North Korea’s former leader Kim Jong IL also happened to be the greatest golfer the world has ever seen.
Trouble is, nobody actually saw him play, even though the “facts”, for what they’re worth, certainly suggest he was the ultimate golfing machine.
When the Dear Leader played his first (and only) round of golf at the country’s sole club, the tricky 7,700-yard track at Pyongyang, it took him just 34 strokes to complete the 18 holes. And being a living deity, he did it with no less than five holes-in-ones on his way round, obviously.
So let’s cut him some slack, because at least the bloke could play a bit…
