FedEx Cup – McIlroy & Poulter on the edge

Both need big weeks or face elimination

Rory McIlroy will have to produce a top 4 finish if he is to make next week's Tour Championship, while Ian Poulter will need a top 5 if he is to make it.

McIlroy is currently 51st in the rankings, having not managed a single win in 2017. He also hasn't won a major since 2014.

Rory has suffered from injuries this year with back spasms and numbness in his left arm which has made it next to impossible for him to defend his FedExCup title, and attempt to become the first player to win it in back-to-back seasons.

"I guess I could just go home and do snow angels in a massive bed of cash..."

Poulter has also been fighting back from injury all season and making decent progress. At one point Poults was 207th in the world rankings but he is now climbing back up the ladder and sits at 54th, and 47th place in the FedEx Cup rankings.

The Comeback Kid: Poulter has dragged himself back from the abyss...

Good luck lads.
