NIPPON SHAFT WINS in HOUSTON and JAPAN

Players on different sides of the planet used Nippon Shaft steel shafts in their irons and wedges on Sunday to win on the PGA Tour and on the Japan Golf Tour.

At the Cadence Houston Open, Tony Finau the tall 33-year-old Salt Lake City-born Ryder Cup team member, used N.S.PRO MODUS³ Tour 120 TX steel shafts in his irons and MODUS 125 Wedge steel shafts in his wedges to win by four strokes. In a wire-to-wire victory, he shot a 16-under par total with rounds of 65-62-68-69 at Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston and received a winner’s cheque of $1.5 million. It was his fifth PGA Tour victory and his third in the last four months.
Meanwhile, in Japan, 31-year-old Ryo Ishikawa used N.S.PRO MODUS³ Tour 125 S-flex steel shafts in his irons and wedges to shoot an 8-under par total to win the Mitsui Sumitomo VISA Taiheiyo Masters at the Taiheiyo Club. He had rounds of 68-66-69—272 and earned 40 million yen ($288,000) for the win.
