Kuchar looks to Bettinardi putter
For first Major victory
Words: GolfPunk
Matt Kuchar is looking to put himself in contention for another Major following his outstanding finish at The Open Championship with his customised Bettinardi putter.
The current world number 12 led the field with 19 birdies on the Southport Links using a customised 42” DASS (double–aged stainless steel) Kuchar Model 1 Arm Lock putter. It incorporates a deep–etched Lamkin grip featuring new cord lining that delivers maximum feel and shot feedback.
Designed by the seven–time PGA Tour winner alongside company founder Robert Bettinardi, the putter is very similar to the Studio Stock 28 Arm Lock on sale in the UK and Europe other than the Tour branding.
"I'm really pleased with how my Bettinardi putter performed at The Open,” said Matt. “I feel comfortable and confident over every putt and I'm looking ahead to the next few tournaments, especially if I get in contention again at the final Major of the season,” he added.
Matt will now turn his attentions to the World Golf Championships–Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio before the USPGA Championship at Quail Hollow, North Carolina in just over two weeks’ time.
“Matt is a great role model and brand ambassador for Bettinardi,” said Robert. “We worked very closely with him throughout every design stage in the making of his putter as his consistent putting stats over the years have shown the Arm Lock technique works really well for him and suggests that a Major win is just around the corner,” he added.
Matt is yet to finish outside of the top–20 in Majors this season following a T4 at the US Masters and T16 at the US Open at Erin Hills. The Sea Island resident is currently 17th in the FedEx Cup rankings and is on course to make his fourth appearance for the USA at the Presidents Cup in September to be played at Liberty National Golf Club in New Jersey.
The 15 premium models across the Bettinardi 2017 range – the Studio Stock, Queen B, iNOVAi and BB Series - are hand–crafted from one piece of high–quality milled carbon steel using hi–tech CNC milling technology at the brand’s state–of–the–art factory just outside Chicago.
