LIV Golf's Legion XIII player, Tyrrell Hatton wins the DP World Tour 2025 Hero Dubai Desert Classic in a thriller of a finish, holding off New Zealand's Daniel Hillier and a surging Rory McIlory on the final day.
In 18 holes full of ups and downs the Englishman showed grit and quality to turn a 1 shot deficit into a 1 shot lead win and snatch the title away from Hillier.
With Tyrrell 2 Shots clear on the final hole of the tournament, the par 5 18th, Daniel Hillier forced pressure on draining a 9ft putt for birdie to claw himself within 1 shot of Hatton.
Pressure on, Hatton then had a tricky 5ft knee shaker of a putt for par to take the win and he did just that. Sinking the putt to finish with a 3 under par 69 final day, -15 over the four days, securing his first ever Hero Dubai Desert Classic win, his 8th DP World Tour title.
“It feels amazing,” said Hatton. “I said earlier in the week, this is one of the events that you would like to have on your CV. It's such an iconic event for the DP World Tour.
“To add my name to the list of the amazing champions that have been before me, and to have my name on that trophy now, it's a dream come true.
“I'm not going to lie, I was pretty nervous on the back nine to be honest. I guess I just maybe wanted it a bit too much.
“I knew the position I was in, and a little bit scruffy down the last. But yeah, to see that putt go in felt amazing. Just so happy to win.”
