Tiger Woods: "I'm not dead yet!"

World number 898 means business

He's back. Properly this time: “I’m ready to go. I have way more shots now, because I’ve played way more golf. I only had a handful of shots back then." Strap yourselves in, it's Tiger Time!

“Yes, I’m nervous,” said Tiger last night, just days away from his comeback at the Hero in The Bahamas. “I’m nervous for every tournament I play in, whether it’s after a lay-off, or six in a row, or a major.

"I care. If I care, I’m nervous. And it’s good to be that way. I want to be out here so bad. There is that part of me that is the competitor who wants to beat these guys. I want to compete.”

Yessssssss!!!!!! He's coming back for real this time. After 16 months on the sidelines the currently ranked 898th player in the world, says it was the right thing to do delaying his comeback by 6 weeks because: “I can hit all the shots now – on call”.

Al the shots. All. The. Shots.

“I’m ready to go. I have way more shots now, because I’ve played way more golf. I only had a handful of shots back then.

"It was a smart decision in the end to pull out of the tournaments. The competitor inside me wanted to go so badly, I was itching to go, I had been playing at home, and I thought I could get it around. I had played feeling worse and won golf tournaments.

"But I finally decided ‘why rush’? I had waited more than a year, so let’s wait a little more and get it right.

“I’ve just had a session where I hit everything. And I had control of everything. I can hit all the shots now - on call.”

Tiger played a practice round with Justin Rose on Monday at the Albany course and played a practice round on Monday with England’s Justin Rose, and after the round he admitted to having nerves but mostly because he thinks he'll be in the mix to win the 18 man tournament that features players of the caliber of Dustin Johnson and Jordan Spieth.

Lord, if you're listening up there and you're not busy playing golf with Arnie and am Snead, see what you can do for us here. will ya?

And,  if  haven't said it before, keep yourself nice.
