Sergio Garcia wins the Dubai Desert Classic

By three shots over Henrik Stenson

Massive congratulations to Sergio Garcia as he wins the Dubai Desert Classic by three shots over Henrik Stenson. Here's how he did it to earn his first European Tour victory for three years.

Sergio carded a three under 69 to hold off Henrik Stenson who also shot a 69.

He started with a birdie on the first, and then went even par through to the 9th when he birdied again.

A final bidie on the par 3 15th, and not a dropped shot for the round, saw him home in comfort.

Stenson was slow to mount his challenge and could only muster a single birdie on the front nine, to make the turn in 34. He stepped it up on the back nine with four birdies, but also dropped precious shots on the 12th and 15th.

It was to be Sergio's day, and Stenson could just not get a look in.

T3 was Tyrrell Hatton and Sweden's Lasse Jenson, with Mathew Fitzpatrick two shots further back T5 with America's Peter Uihlein.
