LIV GOLF Singapore Round One Recap

Munoz leads after 65 (-6)

Sebastian Munoz of Colombia shot a 6-under 65 on Friday to lead after the first round of the LIV Golf tournament at Sentosa Golf Club,  Singapore.

Munoz, who opened with a 1-over 72 in his first round a week ago in Australia, found himself back on track in Singapore saying “Really happy where the game is right now and kind of trending”.

Abraham Ancer, Martin Kaymer, Brooks Koepka, Kevin Na, Thomas Pieters, Cameron Tringale,  and are all tied second after rounds of 66.

Birthday boy Brooks Koepka, turning 34, birdied the first five of seven holes, teeing off the third, in the hot and humid conditions.
When asked if warmer climes improved his performance (having won twice in Saudi Arabia in 2022 and again in 2023 in Jeddah), Koepka replied: “I really don’t care where it is, as long as I win.”

Last week's winner in Adelaide, Brandon Steele, carded a 68 to sit three strokes back.

Ancer’s Fireballs and Koepka’s Smash sit at -11 with Range Goats, Cleeks and Stinger at -10. Crushers GC made an unusually cold start but remain well ahead in the season's team standings.
