The Tour Edge EX9 Driver

Introducing the Sunday Driver

EX9 $299.99, EX9 Tour $399.99

It’s the Sunday Driver, every week we’re going to showcase a driver you may not have seen before. This week it’s the brand new Tour Edge Exotic EX9 and EX9 Tour Driver’s.

Tour Edge have got a cult following for their rocket fuelled fairway woods. They also make a mean driver. These new EX9 Drivers are the lowest spinning they have ever produced. They’re also designed to be easy to swing faster and hit further.

Tour Edge have a new design philosophy this year, they call it Full-Speed Impact. What does that mean? Every feature of the club is designed for the ball to fly off the face as fast as possible so you can hit longer drives

The 460cc model features an aerodynamic sloping of the crown to reduce drag and generate faster club speeds for distance. Adding to the distance formula, Tour Edge have improved their power grid design to allow the face to flex more at impact for an exceptionally powerful launch.

The driver features Hexagonal variable face thickness technology. The Hexagonal configuration changes the thickness of the face, so it’s thick in the centre to keep it within the R&A rules, while it is thinner towards the edges so that the ball travels as far as possible on miss hits.

The EX9 driver is a 460cc draw enhancing clubhead available in 10 and 12-degrees designed to deliver forgiving, high-flying drives. The Tour model is a pear-shaped, 430cc head with a deeper face for low spin and fast ball speeds. The EX9 Tour driver is engineered in 9 and 10-degree heads. Both models include a new hosel design that allows players to change launch conditions using eight settings and adding or subtracting up to one degree of loft.

Both drivers feature a sole weight to optimise the club’s performance. The EX9 has a heel weight to encourage a draw. The EX9 Tour driver’s sole weight is specifically located deep within the club head for a higher MOI and lower spin. The standard 6-gram heel weight screw is housed in an 8-gram weight pad for 14 grams of sole weighting. Additional weight screws can be purchased as a kit or individually. The kit includes 3-gram, 9-gram and 11-gram weights to increase or decrease the swing weight.

There are loads of shaft options too including Mitsubishi Bassara E-Series, Fujikura Exotics PRO and PRO Tour, Matrix Exotics White, Red, and Black Tie,Aldila Rogue Silver 60 and 70, and the Mitsubishi Diamana S+, M+, and D+.
