On a tricky final day at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, Lee Westwood came agonisingly close to taking the title. In the end, it was Bryson DeChambeau with his massive hitting that nipped in to take the title by one shot.

What is wrong with Patrick Reed? He is a great golfer but a rather marmite character who seems you either love or hate. Sadly, given his propensity to sail close to the wind with the golf rules, supporters are few and far between.

In unprecedented times, we have one more men’s golf major to look forward to this year. The Masters at Augusta is scheduled in November for the first time, after the cancellation earlier in the year. Patrick Reed is hoping to extend his advantage at the top of the European Tour’s Race to Dubai after confirming his return to this week’s BMW PGA Championship, the third Rolex Series event of 2020. The American made his debut at Wentworth Club last year, sharing fourth position – one of seven top 20 finishes he recorded on the European Tour in 2019.
Dustin Johnson teed off in the final round of the PGA Tour finale Tor Championship and as expected, it was pretty much plain sailing. His lead was cut to two at one point as Justin Thomas and Xander Schauffele took a run at the world number one but a birdie at the last capped off a final round 68 and a three-shot victory.

Michael Thompson birdied two of the last three holes to hold off a late charge from Adam Long to record a two-stroke win at the 3M Open in Minnesota. Thompson had shared the overnight lead with Richy Werenski with Charl Schwartzel and Tony Finau two shots back but it was Long who set the target after a final round seven-under-par 64.
Well, the R&A finally made a decision and somewhat surprisingly for some the decision was to cancel the 149th Open Championship because of the coronavirus pandemic. The Tournament will now take place at the same venue, Royal St George's Golf Club in Sandwich, in 2021.
Tiger Woods will open his account for 2020 and quest for his record breaking 83rd tour title at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines from 23rd to 26th January. Woods last seen leading Team USA to victory at the Presidents Cup will then head to the Genesis Open at the Riviera Country Club in mid-February.
