Canada's Corey Conners claimed his second Valero Texas Open with a one-stroke victory over PGA Tour rookie Sam Stevens. It was the second time the Canadian had won the PGA Tour event in the last five years, having won the event in 2019. Conners shot a bogey-free four-under-par 68 to finish on fifteen-under to edge out Stevens, who had two eagles in his closing 66 at TPC San Antonio.
Hideki Matsuyama took advantage of a damped down Augusta to fire a bogey-free third round seven-under 75 to take a four-shot lead into Sunday. Following a rain delay of over an hour, the man from Japan produced an eagle and four birdies to cover the back nine in 30.
On a tricky final day at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, Lee Westwood came agonisingly close to taking the title. In the end, it was Bryson DeChambeau with his massive hitting that nipped in to take the title by one shot.
