On a lightening and rain-affected day it was USA’s Derek Fathauer who rose to the top of the leaderboard. He shot another six under 66 to take a one shot lead over fellow American Jason Bohn.

Thai golfing legend Thongchai Jaidee shot a 66 to take the lead at the BMW Masters. The former Paratrooper is one shot in front of Bjerregaard, Byeong-hun An and Sergio Garcia at the Lake Malaren Golf Club.

The other day I had a new Twitter follower. This is always exciting for me (sad but true). What was more interesting was that he lives in Iceland – the land of fire and ice is a country of extremes. It’s a blast from the past as Justin Leonard took the first round in the PGA Tour's OHL Classic. While he’s only 43, it feels like an age since we last saw former Open winner Leonard on the top of a leaderboard (it's been 2 years), but after a six under first round, that’s where he is sharing the lead with Aaron Baddeley, Shawn Stefani, and Derek Fathauer.

New ticket and pricing options have been introduced for the 145th Open Championship at Royal Troon, including a new twilight ticket and a £10 reduction in the price of an adult daily pass bought in advance.
A limited number of twilight tickets will be on offer for the first time at Royal Troon in 2016, giving spectators entry to the course on Thursday, July 14 and Friday, July 15 from 4pm onwards for £25.
