Anyone who was at the British Masters, or watched it on TV, will know what an excellent tournament it was. With the European Tour courting sponsorship dollars across Europe and beyond in order to maintain operations and expand, it seems that there has been less focus on holding events in the UK.

The guys on the European Seniors Tour represent a golden, pioneering age of golf. Many of them, like Sam Torrance, were there at the start of the European Tour in 1972, when events took them to ridiculously hard to get to destinations, and players slept 4 to a room to save costs. Golf. It just doesn't make sense does it? I mean, when you're languishing at World number 837, you don't really expect to be in the mix come Sunday at the prestigious BMW International tournament in Munich. And you certainly don't expect to win it.
